MUSICAL PORTRAIT OF MY GROUP
It’s rather hard to present the musical portrait of our group because we all are different and I can’t imagine us nine playing in one band without fighting. But, let’s try! Nothing personal, just some game with my imagination)))
So, I’ll imagine our group as a rock band. Unusual and famous rock band. What it usually includes? Basic instruments are guitar, bass guitar, vocals and drums, plus keyboard and whatever else the band wants. Surely if there’re nine of us we’ll need something more. So, let’s divide instruments!
Yura will obviously play electric guitar, together with Bogdan. Because they’re friends and there should be great understanding between them. Also there should be two bass guitars and we’ll charge Vika and Marianna with them. I know that girls have never played such instruments, but I’m sure they’ll cope.
The following instrument are drums (which, to my point of view are very cool and can give you an emotional discharge) and Anya will be playing them. Alyona will be charged with the keyboard, because she already has an experience of playing such kind of instrument.
And, as our rock band is going to be something very unusual I’d like to add three instruments that are not typical to it.
The first is violin and Elena will be playinig. Thanks to Elena and her violin we’ll sometimes manage to sound like KISH in their early years)))
The second new instrument will be the flute and Sasha will be charged with it. This would add some folk motives to some of our songs.
And I’ll take the last unusual instrument that is a celtic harp. This will help us to make songs similar to Melnitsa, one of my favourite groups.
So, our rock band will be a mixture of hard, alternative and folk rock. So the themes of our songs will be rather various, e.g. lyrics about unhappy low and about a girl killing her infidelit boyfriend or vice versa, some folk songs about love, fantastic events and evil spirits, social and political problems and also songs about poor students of university and professor Arakin turning restlessly in his coffin\grave.
And our goal will resemble the following lines from a song of famous Canadian group Nickelback:
'Cause we all just wanna be big rockstars
And live in hilltop houses driving fifteen cars
The girls come easy and the drugs come cheap
We'll all stay skinny 'cause we just won't eat
And we'll hang out in the coolest bars
In the VIP with the movie stars’
